Higher order hierarchical H(curl) Legendre basis functions applied in the finite element method: emphasis on microwave circuits
(2011) In Technical Report LUTEDX/(TEAT-7205)/1-11/(2011)- Abstract
- In this paper a set of higher order hierarchical H(curl)
Legendre basis functions is introduced as a basis in the two and
three dimensional finite element method (FEM). The basis functions
are divided into three different sets: edge functions, surface
functions and interior functions. Two problems are addressed in
order to study the $p$-convergence of the representation. In the
first problem the eigenvalues of an inhomogeneous rectangular
waveguide with a rectangular inclusion are computed. The p-convergence is measured for a dielectric inclusion and for an
inclusion with finite conductivity, respectively. In the second
problem the eigenvalues of a homogeneous... (More) - In this paper a set of higher order hierarchical H(curl)
