Pain, Passion and Compassion : A Response to Sarah Coakley
(2009) In Svensk Teologisk Kvartalskrift 85(2). p.85-89- Abstract
- The article is a response to a lecture held by Sarah Coakley at Lund University 2009. In relation to Coakley's reflections on pain, the article addresses the question whether the Passion story still today, and not only in an ecclesial context, can serve as an incitement to a kind of self-examinating reflection. In other words, is it possible to retrieve through the Passion a narrative framework which alerts us and urges us never to grow complacent or to remain passive when confronted with the pain and suffering of another human being?
