- Abstract
- My thesis focuses on the relationship between the local and regional level of Swedish public governance. Since decentralisation has been an ongoing trend in the public sector for at least two decades I assess this subject to be of importance for further discussion and analysis. The dissertation is meant to evaluate a few of the original purposes of decentralisation pronounced by the national administration. These intentions mainly focuses on the local level of administration and that it is not to be marginalised in favour of the regional level while central government delegates power and trust downwards. The study also focuses on various attitudes between clerks working in different public levels of administration, and shows that representatives of regional and local public levels do view the possibilities of influence differently.
