The purpose of this essay is from a group of employees examine whether there is any relationship between an individual's ability to choose physical place to work at and the degree of subjective well-being. The survey was conducted in four different organizations with a total of 34 participants, 19 women and 15 men. The study consisted of a two-part questionnaire in which the first dealt with questions surrounding physical workplace, working hours and how much the individual worked on other places. The second part consisted of Ryff's well-being test. Multiple regression analys was used to predict a persons subjective well-being based on the ability to choose workplace, working hours and the amount of working hours away from the main workplace. The results showed no significant relationship between how much the individual is working in other places than the main working place and the person's well-being. They did not demonstrate any significant relationship between the person's possibility to choose working time and the individual well-being either. From this study there is a significant correlation between the ability to choose physical work and subjective well-being. (Less)
