- Swedish security politics changed during the time when Sweden joined the European Union. This thesis analyse this transformation with focus on a military operation in Chad were Sweden attended. Sweden has been considered as a neutral actor in the context of military conflicts. This neutrality can even be traced back to the nineteenth century. When Sweden entered the European Union the country started to partake in more military operations. The case is interesting because the operation was one of the most complex military operations that the EU performed as one united actor.
Since Sweden has a history of practising neutral military politics, this is an interesting case whereas Sweden was participating from the beginning. The military...
