Entrepreneurial motivation as the essential factor for venture success

Abstract
In this paper I review the current body of knowledge linking entrepreneurial motivation and performance. From this frame of reference I evaluate my experiences in commercialization of university research within the context of the entrepreneurship program. Commercialization of university research and external ideas has been a major priority of program. The students are strongly encouraged to develop externally triggered opportunities, as it is the general belief that having additional resources attached to these opportunities should improve the chances for success.
