Title: Contact wanted- a study about social secretaries and contacts perceptions regarding the intervention contact person

The purpose of this study was to examine social secretaries and contact persons in their perception on the intervention contact person. More specifically the study’s aim was to investigate whether support and/or control functions was emphasized in the intervention, the contact persons role in a professional perspective and how the intervention was defined in contrast to conceptions about normality and deviance. Since the study was based on qualitative interviews with four social secretaries and two contact persons, we have had interview guidelines available during the entire sessions. These interview guidelines have however not stopped us from being able to expand the subject as the interview was taken place. The intervieewes were asked questions based on the aim of the study, as presented above. Our theoretical starting points, the aim of the study and our empirical results were the base for our analysis. Our results show that despite the primary function of the intervention is support there exist control functions as well. The social secretaries and the contact persons stress different aspects of the intervention from a control perspective. They do agree on the fact that there are advantages in both the professional and unprofessional approach to the intervention. They also agree that despite the decrease of using male and female role models in the purpose of the intervention the notion of these role models still exists in the society and therefore also in the intervention.
