- Abstract
- This thesis aims to formulate a small segment, a picture, of how we teachers can conduct ourselves to – and meet – children and adolescents with specific needs in (music) tuition. One of the reasons for the study is that I have met music teachers which believ that they are feeling a bit concerned about the fact of facing children and adolescents with intellectual impairment. I have interviewed four people from four different work positions describing their thoughts on how they look at their approach to (music) tuition for intellectually impaired pupils. The study also shows that medical knowledge with the teacher can facilitate his/her teaching and approach to children and adolescents with special needs and/or impairment. - Detta examensarbete syftar till att formulera ett litet utsnitt, en bild, av hur vi lärare kan förhålla oss till – och möta – barn och unga med särskilda behov i (musik-) undervisningen. Ett av motiven till studien är att jag träffat musikpedagoger som menar att de känner en viss oro inför att möta och undervisa barn och ungdomar med intellektuell funktionsnedsättning.
