Abstract
One widely used method for the detection of active pharmaceutical ingridients is high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The purpose of using this technique is that it can detect low concentrations of molecules in a solution, as well as separate molecules in a solution from each other. This report will illuminate the aim to implement a method that successfully can detect zoledronic acid, with a potential application in a system combining bone graft substitutes with this bisphosphonate. A variety of methods were tested with limited results. The results were that one method could detect low concentrations of zoledronic acid in pure water and that another could detect concentrations of zoledronic acid in a physiologically similar... Popular Abstract
Healing of bone voids in brittle bone remain a clinical challenge, and is a growing problem in today’s society where the older part of the population is increasing, day by day. But with increasingly more sophisticated biomaterials and highly improved bone growth drugs the future look much brighter. But imagine what the combination of these two could achieve!
