- This study examines crisis management work and crisis preparedness ability among Swedish
universities - contributing to fill out the existing research gap within this area. It takes 20 crisis
management plans into account, focusing on four more in particular along with the undertaking
of semi-structured interviews with four university Vice-Chancellors. Furthermore, a conventional
content analysis is used to examine the empirical data, and the results are later analyzed by using
crisis management theory, more precisely, the five-phase framework. Finally, the study concludes
that all four universities take crisis management work into account and are, to a certain extent,
