- Bygg- och fastighetssektorn stod ungefär för 34 procent av Sveriges totala energianvändning år 2021. Energianvändningen inom sektorn är främst energin som går åt till uppvärmning. 2021 stod uppvärmningen för ungefär 73 procent. (Boverket, 2024a)
Hur brukarna i en byggnad beter sig kan vara en viktig parameter i energianvändningen. Att göra omfattande renoveringar för att förbättra byggnadens energiprestanda kan vara kostsamt. Om en förändring i brukarbeteende kan bidra till en mindre energianvändning kan dessa åtgärder vara mindre kostsamma eller till och med gratis till skillnad mot en teknisk åtgärd. För att kunna få en uppfattning om hur vädring sker kommer brukarnas vädringsvanor undersökas genom enkäter till 19 bostäder där brukarna själva får uppskatta sina vädringsvanor samt genom mätningar på fönster i ett befintligt flerbostadshus i Skåne. Byggnaden, byggd 1977, kommer sedan att modelleras i programmet IDA ICE för att kunna simulera energianvändningen för byggnaden. (Less) - Abstract

Behavioral patterns, such as window opening habits, hot water usage, electricity consumption, and temperature adjustments, can significantly impact energy consumption in buildings. Recognizing the potential cost-effectiveness of addressing occupant behavior over extensive building renovations, this study aims to delve into the specific influence of window opening habits on energy usage in a multi-family building context. The study of the energy need will be conducted in Skåne, Sweden, focusing on existing multi-family housing units. 19 different residents have responded to a survey about their window opening habits. The primary objective is to gain insights into how variations in occupants window opening habits affect overall energy consumption. The empirical aspect of the study involves a combination of survey data collection and building modeling. A building will be modeled using advanced simulation software, such as IDA ICE, allowing for the simulation of various ventilation scenarios. By modeling different ventilation behaviors, the study seeks to quantify their impact on the building's annual energy consumption. This modeling process serves as a bridge between theoretical understanding and practical implications, providing valuable insights into the potential energy savings achievable through behavior modifications. In conclusion, this study contributes to the growing body of research on energy efficiency in buildings by highlighting the significant role of occupant behavior. The results from the survey indicate significant differences in window opening behavior. The conclusion drawn is that the default value of 4 kWh/m2 is not sufficient to accurately reflect these variations in this study. (Less)
