We suggest that the discussion of cases that depict clients in particular life situations, with specific behavioural difficulties and in need of help from a social worker, can be used to integrate psychology into social work courses. Students are encouraged to apply psychological concepts in order to consider explanations for the clients’ difficulties and potential strategies of providing help to them. While training to apply psychological concepts in their analysis, students learn to understand how these theoretical concepts are relevant for social workers in their work with clients. (Less)
