OBJECTIVES: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the benefits and harms of therapeutic hypothermia (TH) compared to standard care in newborn infants with hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE).
