- Abstract (Swedish)
- Perennial plants come with several benefits: less erosion, reduced intensity of farming operations, and increased carbon inputs into the soil. In a long term field experiment in Alnarp, Sweden, the perennial wheatgrass Kernza® is compared with an annual crop rotation (including wheat, sugar beet, barley and rapeseed), comparing the CO2 flux between the soil and the air together with other aspects of the cultivation, to investigate the opportunities and obstacles to increased cultivation of perennial grains in Europe.
