Six categories of positive experiences were identified: a more positive view of life; good self-esteem; knowledge and experience with regard to disease and hospital care; good relations; broader perspectives; and material gains. Conclusions. Two years after diagnosis those struck by cancer during adolescence experience not only a number of negative, but also positive, consequences of the cancer disease and its treatment.
