- The aim of this study is to explore the effects of fathers’ experience of parental leave on their attitudes towards existing gender roles and division. Many studies have claimed that fathers’ parental leave may hardly eradicate deep-rooted gender divisions between men and women, and fathers’ care-giving is a temporary phenomenon during their parental leave. However, this study demonstrates that gender per se is a concept constructed by repeating gender-specific behaviors, not by biological features.
