Brända hallar - diskontinuitet och kontinuitet: Ett järnåldersresidens i Uppåkra, Sydsverige

Larsson, Lars LU and Soderberg, Bengt (2013) In Fornvännen 108(4). p.238-248
Abstract
The on-going excavation campaign at Uppåkra in Scania began in 1996 and the site has seen fieldwork annually since. The archaeology covers c. 40 hectares and represents continuous settlement from c 100 BC to AD 1000. Trial trenches have been scattered across the site, with a concentration to what is now seen as the most important part, the residence. Here the foundation of an apparently cultic building has been excavated. In recent years, a sequence of nearby foundations for major long houses has been investigated, yielding evidence for the houses burning down with people still inside. Four houses have stood on the same spot from the 5th to the 10th century, and there is evidence for additional buildings predating these four on that spot.
