Lucky Cat: Place branding in vulnerable areas.
(2023) Annual Conference of the International Place Branding Association- Abstract
- This art short film examines clichéd images of vulnerable urban places in Sweden by juxtaposing stereotypes of marginalization, safety, commerce, and everyday life. The research aim is to use kitsch art and playful elements to intervene in the conventional thinking of these places as problems in the margins of society.
The medium of the short film enables us to bring to life the empirical material collected during a two-year long field study in vulnerable areas. The film is made up by photographs and audio-visual recordings, which makes possible a collective multisensory experience of lived places.
