Kind of Folk Iberia : Tour with Groupa, Vanesa Muela and Sofia Adriana Portugal

- In collaboration with Spanish and Portuguese musicians, the group has recorded a new album that was released in April 2023. With roots in Nordic folk music, Groupa plays music that reflects both a deep, long-standing connection to tradition and a strong, unyielding desire to constantly move forward. After an intense celebration of Groupa’s 40th anniversary in 2021, the group continues its work of blending deep knowledge of folk music and improvisation with new influences. In Groupa’s latest project, Kind of Folk, traditional music meets the group’s exploratory approach. So far, the group has released four albums in the Kind of Folk series.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer Vanesa Muela has her roots in the music of the Castilla y León region. She plays a variety of percussion instruments. Vanesa’s intense vocals and steady percussion playing create, together with Groupa, a beautiful Nordic-Iberian harmony. Sofia Adriana Portugal belongs to the young generation of singers in Portugal who have taken an interest in the country’s traditional music. With a background in the band Fadomorse and training in theater, Sofia captivates listeners with her lyrical singing and narrative approach.
