Abstract
Phenomenal virtuoso trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger is ready to dazzle Turku for the third time! Jolas' "Eleven Songs" is a jazz tickler, a sparkly biting, at times dreamy and above all playful composition. Haydn's Concerto, one of his most popular works, will be freshly interpreted by the evening's artists. Conductor John Storgårds and TPO:s Dvořák cycle begins with the composer's breakthrough symphony. Wagnerian influences cross the symphony's strands, as if in memory of the evening's opening number.
