Computational study of noise generation and propagation from a wind turbine
(2008) 3rd International conference "From Scientific Computing to Computational Engineering" 3rd IC-SCCE- Abstract
- The flow and acoustic fields around a wind turbine are computed using a hybrid method. The flow
computations reveal the presence of large-scale structures which are convected downstream without significant
decay. The strong interaction between the tip vortices and the wind turbine tower is highlighted. The acoustic
computations show that the resulting acoustic near-field is dominated by the blade passage frequency.
