Abstract
The aim of this report has been to perform a risk analysis of Avesta Sheffields cold-rolling mill in Nyby. The risk analysis consequences are expressed in economical terms and the measurement of the risk is presented as the expected annual cost due to fire. The model used is based on an event tree which describes what happens if a fire breaks out in the building. The effect off different fire prevention measures, such as sprinklers, fire compartments etc. is modelled by using a combination of expert judgement and statistics. Since the scope of the risk analysis deals with the complete building, some relative simple and only partly validated models have been used in order to make the analysis practicable.
