A compact field weakening controller implementation
(2006) International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2006. SPEEDAM 2006 2006. p.696-700- Abstract
- This paper proposes a compact field weakening controller (FWC). The FWC was developed during the development of an electrically driven rear axle for a hybrid electric car. The overall control system of the vehicle, the hybrid controller (HC), delivers a reference torque for the rear drive unit (RDU). Depending on the torque reference, instantaneous vehicle speed and battery voltage the task of the FWC is to produce current references for the current controller. The references are chosen to give an optimal current, optimal in the sense that the torque-per-current ratio is maximized, under the restriction of keeping the stator voltage and current limited. The FWC is based on comprehensive measurements of the machine. An algorithm is used to... (More)

The FWC is based on comprehensive measurements of the machine. An algorithm is used to process the data from the measurements. The output from the algorithm is look-up tables. Implementation of the look-up tables is also discussed in the paper. (Less)
