Sorting of Breast Cancer Cell into Different Subpopulations towards Long-Term Observation
(2022) 26th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences, MicroTAS 2022 In MicroTAS 2022 - 26th International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences p.322-323- Abstract
To study how mechanical factors influence the spread of cancer and the surrounding extracellular matrix (ECM), it is crucial that cancer cell populations be sorted without labels in relevant subpopulations with respect to mechanical properties. It is also important to confine subpopulations for long-term observation to track changes, in inherent properties of the subpopulations, and on the influence of the sorting. We have used Deterministic Lateral Displacement (DLD) for label-free continuous sorting of breast cancer cells into three different subpopulations. These were subsequently cultured for further analyses of their differences and to observe any alterations due to the sorting.
