Abstract
A glimpse into a better world: The 4th Symphony Concert C with the world-class trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger and Jörg Widmann, the principal guest conductor of the NDR Radio Philharmonic, is about nothing less.

While the warlike tones in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Scottish" symphony finally give way to a roaring hymn of joy, Jörg Widmann's "Towards Paradise" strives for a utopian state of limbo. The protagonists of this exciting musical journey into the unknown are Jörg Widmann himself - composer and first guest conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie since this season - and the celebrated Swedish trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger.
