Visioner fra Femern Bælt-regionen
(2026)- Abstract
- Across the Fehmarn Belt region, new imaginaries of the future are taking shape. The fixed link between Denmark and Germany will not only reduce travel times but also transform everyday life, local economies, planning cultures, and regional identities on both sides of the Belt.
This book brings together visions emerging from fieldwork, planning documents, site visits, workshops, and conversations with planners, mayors, entrepreneurs, activists, volunteers, and residents. Rather than presenting one masterplan or a linear story of progress, it maps a landscape of overlapping and sometimes conflicting futures: ambitions for growth, tourism, logistics, culture, social infrastructure, heritage, and local belonging.

The book asks what kind of region is coming into being, whose voices and visions shape its direction, and which futures become possible — or impossible — as the Fehmarn Belt region is made.
