Road Sprayed
(2022) In RILEM State-of-the-Art Reports 37. p.59-79- Abstract
In this model benchmarking study the results of the Bonaduz field experiment in Switzerland, representing a road environment with sprayed deicing salts, were used. In this field experiment chloride profiles have been measured for over a time span of ca. 20 years, and concrete properties as well as weather data are well documented. This chapter includes a detailed description of the field experiments and the simulation/prediction results of 5 participating models. The benchmarking results illustrate the complexity of making chloride ingress predictions for the road sprayed case. The main reason for the differences among model predictions and differences between predictions and measurements could be the differences in the assumed driving... (More)

The main reason for the differences among model predictions and differences between predictions and measurements could be the differences in the assumed driving force for chloride ingress.
