Zander, Ulf LU orcid (2025) In NORAH:s skriftserie 1.
Abstract
The liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, has become a date associated with the memory of the Holocaust. More than 80 years after the Red Army marched into the camps in and around the Polish city of Oświęcim, there is still a great need to answer questions about what made the Holocaust possible. Other important questions concern the ways in which the survivors handled the transition to a life in freedom. A recurring question is what we can possibly learn from the terrible history, an aspect that has gained renewed relevance during the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
