(Less)

Five key words: Corporate entrepreneurship, Corporate ventures, Top management teams, Corporate Entrepreneurship Assessment Instrument (CEAI), Organizational Ambidexterity.

Research question: How does the structure of parent-venture relationships shape top management teams’ perceptions of corporate entrepreneurship conditions?

Purpose: This study examines how governance structures in parent-venture relationships shape top management teams' perceptions of corporate entrepreneurship conditions.

Methodology: This study was conducted using a multiple case study approach with qualitative, semi-structured interviews. The data was thematically analyzed to identify patterns in the data.

Theoretical perspectives: CEAI is combined with Organizational Ambidexterity to examine governance structures and how they impact perceptions of corporate entrepreneurial conditions.

Results: Relational trust between parent companies and ventures proved important, and monetary/non-monetary rewards constituted the most common difference across cases.

Conclusion: Governance mechanism structures across parent-venture relationships shape TMTs’ perceptions of entrepreneurial conditions more strongly than structural separation alone. (Less)
