Abstract
Today we are facing a big range of possibilities that may contribute to a sustainable development. The majority of the world’s populations are presumably trying to make the world a better place, but there is no agreement as to how this is to be achieved. The civil society organizations and the aid society have long been the most important players, but since the last decades we can identify a new operator in the field of sustainable development, the social entrepreneur.
Social entrepreneurship is often said to be a hybrid between business and activism. I would like to say that it’s a wide spectrum of actors but the essence is that a social entrepreneur is in an innovative way contributing to a sustainable development, without relying on a donor’s capital.
In this thesis my purpose is to scrutinize how this new actor, the social entrepreneur, is acting to contribute to a sustainable development and how this actor comprehend human rights impact of the work towards a sustainable development. (Less)
