Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore how choral education influences higher music education. The basis of the study is partly Zoltán Kodálys writings that were relevant to the subject, and research and literature relevant to choral education and other aspects of teaching. The research questions focused on effects of choral education relevant to a music academy education, and how choral education could be used as a pedagogical tool at a higher music education. The questions were answered by conductors, other types of musicians, and students, both young and old, and they came from both within and outside the academic world. The results show choral education has many effects relevant to a higher music education, especially on a... (More)

The results show choral education has many effects relevant to a higher music education, especially on a specialized instrumentalist program, where choral educations can give broader competence, focus on greater context and practical performance. These effects could be taken advantage of in the music academy, using choral education as a pedagogical tool. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
