Through the analysis of this study we found that there exist different types of cultural control at Notion during the interviewees first year within the bank,
which we refer to as the onboarding process. We also identified that the employees have conflicting thoughts about Notion as a company. This mainly became evident as the employees expressed cynical reactions towards Notions managerial attempt to control them when trying to shape their values. Further, the employees were also cynical towards failed attempts to socially integrate them and also by the lack of development opportunities. Lastly, we found that not all interviewees are cynical towards Notion as an employer. Positive reactions were common amongst those interviewees that now work there full-time as well as those that have been noticed by their managers. (Less)
