- This research investigates how speed shows up in an organization during an IT system implementation and how this element of acceleration impacts the employees in the company. We aim to address the following research questions: How does the need for speed show up in an organizational change? What is the effect of the perception of speed in the organization for the employees? Drawing on Hartmut Rosa's (2017a, 2017b) theory of social acceleration, we examine the implications of emphasizing speed during an IT system change. Through a case study at MedicX, ten semi-structured interviews were conducted using an abductive approach.
