Abstract
The stone house in Färlöv.
A few years ago, in 2009, a previously unknown stone building was found west of the Romanesque church in the village of Färlöv, north-east Scania. In 2011 the Historical Museum in Lund together with the University College of Kristianstad started a research project on the building and its surroundings. Archaeological excavations have shown that the house was built most likely around 1200. The lasting part consists of walls made of gneiss and granite ashlars with parts of interior rooms remaining. An architectural connection between the house and the church, probably built in the late 1100s, appears to exist. In all probability the house was the main building of the medieval manor of Färlöv, known from... (More)

In all probability the house was the main building of the medieval manor of Färlöv, known from written fourteenth-century sources.
