A game model of logistics network management

Ekdahl, Bertil LU (2004) Proceedings of the World Automation Congress 17. p.193-198
Abstract
In this paper, the author discusses the most common approaches to the supply chain problem. The author argues that they rest on static ideas while the supply chain network is better viewed as an ongoing activity for which the suggested methods are inappropriate. Hence, none of the popular methods has a suitable model of the problem. Instead he suggests infinite games as a computational model for the information flow in a supply chain. They are games of infinite duration and have been used as model for several non-terminating systems. The objective of the paper is not to present a ready made application but to show an interesting and a fruitful new approach to the solution of the supply chain problem
