SHOULD I TAKE OFF MY SHOES?Affiliation boundaries within barefoot running in relation to the consumption of minimalist footwear
(2014) BUSN39 20141Department of Business Administration
- Abstract
- This research aims to explore how consumption impacts on the construction of affiliation boundaries within heterogeneous consumption-oriented subcultures. In order to accomplish this purpose, we have studied the growing phenomenon of barefoot running in relation to the consumption of minimalist footwear as a symbolic product. By doing so, we have explored how consumption vertebrates the subculture and the interplay among its members (in regards to the construction of higher and lower memberships) and within the outside environment
