Alternativa övningsmetoder för musiker – del 2 utforskar hur mentalisering och mimning fungerar i musikalisk övning, enskilt och som duo, i arbetet mot en konsertfärdig produkt. Här redogörs även för hur medvetandezonerna zon 1 och zon 2, som upptäcktes i Alternativa övningsmetoder för musiker – del 1, kan fungera i musikalisk övning genom mentalisering. Utöver dessa två frågor undersöks också hur mentalisering kan brukas i musikundervisning. Jag som skriver denna rapport heter Veronika Zadera och jag är sångerska. Alternativa övningsmetoder för musiker – del 2 utforskar hur mentalisering och mimning fungerar i musikalisk övning, enskilt och som duo, i arbetet mot en konsertfärdig produkt. Här redogörs även för hur medvetandezonerna zon 1 och zon 2, som upptäcktes i Alternativa övningsmetoder för musiker – del 1, kan fungera i musikalisk övning genom mentalisering. Utöver dessa två frågor undersöks också hur mentalisering kan brukas i musikundervisning. Jag som skriver denna rapport heter Veronika Zadera och jag är sångerska. Studien har jag genomfört tillsammans med violinisten Hannah Lindmossen. I studien används en undersökningsmetod som jag och Lindmossen har utvecklat med inspiration från analytisk autoetnografi, aktionsforskning, semistrukturerad observation och fenomenologi. Förutom att Lindmossen och jag är forskare i studien är vi även deltagare i den, vilket ger oss en särskild inblick och förståelse för datan vi samlat in. Det musikstycke som används i studien är I know where I’m goin’, arrangerad av Rebecca Clarke. Jag genomför också intervjuer med två musiklärare och en elev för att utforska hur metoderna vi undersöker kan användas i musikundervisning.

Inom idrott är mentalisering en etablerad träningsmetod och det finns gott om forskning som stödjer dess effektivitet (Hathaway, 2013; Singer et al., 1993; Vergeer & Roberts, 2006). Även inom musik finns ett fåtal studier som stödjer detsamma (Freymuth, 1999; Ross, 1985). Målet med denna studie har varit att utöka forskningen inom detta område. Jag har kommit fram till att metoderna kan vara mycket effektiva för individuell övning samt för instudering i duo. Även inom undervisning visar våra resultat på lovande möjligheter. Vi tror att mentalisering i framtiden kommer att vara en väletablerad övningsmetod inom musik. (Less)

In sports, imagery is an established way of training and there is a good deal of research supporting its efficiency (Hathaway, 2013; Singer et al., 1993; Vergeer & Roberts, 2006). In the music field there is also a small number of studies that support the same conclusions (Freymuth, 1999; Ross, 1985). The goal of this study has been to expand the research of imagery within this field. I have concluded that these methods can be very efficient ways of practising both individually and in a duo. Moreover, it shows promising results in regards to the opportunities that these methods open up for music education. I think that the future will show imagery as a well-established method of practising music. (Less)
