(2013) p.1980-1986- Abstract
This paper is a study of the implementations of two new working methods, systems construction and incentive contracts, in Swedish State building construction around 1970 with an analysis of the implication of such implementations on the organization of the building industry. The aim of the study is to look at how the implementation of two systems changed the process of construction, and what effect it had on the organization of a project, i.e. the working relationships between various actors in the construction process from viewpoint of the architect. This study situates the specific Swedish developments of the 1960's and 1970's in a historic perspective and attempts to find the significance of the implementation of systems construction and incentive contract for later developments in the field.
