- Hälsopsykologi är ett ungt, dynamiskt och snabbt växande forsknings-, utbildnings- och tillämpningsområde. Hälsopsykologin är relevant för praktiskt taget allt som har med hälsa och sjukdom att göra. I flera ämnesområden, som medicin, rehabiliterings- och vårdvetenskap, har hälsopsykologiska teorier, t.ex. om stress och stresshantering, integrerats och praktiserats. Hälsopsykologen som forskare studerar hur psykologiska, sociala, kulturella och beteendefaktorer hänger samman med hälsa och sjukdom.
