Caracterização de organizações realizando preparação para reuso : em direção à economia circular
(2024) 31.- Abstract
- The current linear economic system is based on the extraction of natural resources, the transformation of raw materials and the disposal of waste, leading to the environmental and economic depletion of resources and society. The circular economy proposes the circularity of materials, evaluating post-consumption waste and proposing a waste hierarchy called preparation for reuse (PfR), as set out in the circular economy action plan contained in European community legislation. These activities are currently carried out by organizations such as urban resources centers (URCs). Such units have been studied in Europe; however, their activities and impact on the circular economy still need to be better understood. This study therefore aims to... (More)
- The current linear economic system is based on the extraction of natural resources, the transformation of raw materials and the disposal of waste, leading to the environmental and economic depletion of resources and society. This study therefore aims to characterize the organizations that carry out preparation for reuse (PfR). To this end, a systematic review of URCs and quantitative analysis of a survey of URCs in Germany and Denmark were carried out. Through this analysis, it was noted that turnover and visitor numbers are influenced by the physical attributes of the spaces, as well as the operation of the activities carried out and the marketing channel through which products are sold directly to recycling centers and reuse stores, contributing to greater clarity and adherence to the circular economy.
