Ralsgård & Tullberg – DIALOGUE

Ralsgård & Tullberg Release Fourth Album: DIALOGUE
Swedish wooden flute duo Ralsgård & Tullberg are releasing their fourth album, DIALOGUE – a return to their roots and a celebration of musical conversation.

Ralsgård & Tullberg Release Fourth Album: DIALOGUE
Swedish wooden flute duo Ralsgård & Tullberg are releasing their fourth album, DIALOGUE – a return to their roots and a celebration of musical conversation.
For over two decades, Andreas Ralsgård and Markus Tullberg have been prominent voices on the Swedish folk music scene. Known for their innovative use of the wooden flute, they’ve collaborated with a wide range of musicians in various ensemble settings. With DIALOGUE, they return to the intimate format of the duo – echoing their groundbreaking debut Traditional Flute Music from Sweden (2012), which helped establish the wooden flute as a traditional Swedish instrument.
The new album features mostly traditional tunes from Skåne, Sweden’s southernmost province, alongside a few original compositions that pay tribute to the region’s rich dance music heritage.
Why DIALOGUE? Each track is a musical conversation – between two musicians; between two flutes; between melody and harmony. The title also subtly nods to the role of vowels in flute playing, as shaping vowel sounds is essential to tone production and expression.
