Air Quality Monitoring Assists Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals in Ethiopia
(2024) 1st International Conference on Air Quality in Africa, ICAQ 2022 In Advances in Science, Technology and Innovation p.99-102- Abstract
Air pollution is a global challenge impacting the lives of millions of people, especially in low-income countries. Improving air quality is linked to several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The state of particulate matter (PM) pollution in Ethiopia and the importance of a national ambient air quality monitoring program are discussed. The contributions of NASA’s upcoming satellite-based Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) investigation to the SDGs are highlighted.
