Abstract
Despite efforts to integrate BIM and BEM, challenges persist, including incomplete data, errors, and the need for manual corrections, all hindering the implementation of sustainable building designs. Professionals in the Swedish architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry have yet to fully adopt standardized practices for exchanging BIM and BEM data. This article explores the challenges of integrating BIM and BEM during the design phase. A workshop with AEC professionals working in Swedish companies was conducted to facilitate knowledge exchange, gather expert feedback, and assess the current state of integration. This article explores the challenges of integrating BIM and BEM during the design phase. A workshop with AEC professionals working in Swedish companies was conducted to facilitate knowledge exchange, gather expert feedback, and assess the current state of integration. The participants included architects, engineers, and software developers, all specializing in BIM and BEM, and the researchers involved in the oBtoB project. The workshop was structured to include keynote presentations on the IEA EBC Annex 91 and the oBtoB project, interactive discussions, and data collection. A poll tool was prepared to gather real-time feedback from participants on the challenges, gaps, and advancements in BIM to BEM integration. (Less)
