Fördjupad analys av Skånes Flora – 2. Indikatorvärden
(2013) In Botaniska Notiser: utgivna av Lunds botaniska förening (2001-) 146(3). p.17-24- Abstract
- In this second article in a series based on various analyses of data from the survey of the vascular flora of the province of Skåne, southern-most Sweden, completed 1987–2007, the geographic distribution of mean indicator values are mapped and discussed. The Ellenberg indicator values are applied and found to correlate well with actual conditions as far as light, temperature and soil reaction (pH) is concerned, whereas the indicator values for continentality seem to produce a spurious pattern and the indicator value for nitrogen appear better correlated with soil reaction and overall productivity than with actual nitrogen availability and deposition. The indicator values for nitrogen thus need to be evaluated in combination with those for... (More)
- In this second article in a series based on various analyses of data from the survey of the vascular flora of the province of Skåne, southern-most Sweden, completed 1987–2007, the geographic distribution of mean indicator values are mapped and discussed. The indicator values for nitrogen thus need to be evaluated in combination with those for soil reaction, or they need to be significantly modified. In addition, two indicator values are developed anew to account for the northern distribution limit of species (a regionally better adjusted proxy for temperature requirements) and their dependece on soil/vegetation disturbance, respectively. It is concluded that these indicator values, if applied with care, may prove to be highly useful when analysing ongoing and future changes in the flora based on data from repeated surveys. (Less)
