RAID - a Robotic Workstation for the Disabled
(1993) the 2nd European Conference on the Advancement of Rehabilitation Technology (ECART 2)- Abstract
- The aim of the RAID project (Robot for Assisting the Integration of the Disabled) is to develop and demonstrate a prototype robotic workstation for use by disabled people. The RAID project is part of the European Community TIDE program (Technology for the socio-economic Integration of disabled and Elderly people).
The robotized system is intended primarily for vocational use in an office environment. The selected application for the demonstration in March 1993 is CAD (Computer Aided Design), which is an application full of handling tasks for the robot. If the robot is capable of doing all these tasks satisfactory, a number of other applications can be extracted form the CAD application.

A key feature of RAID is the emphasis on user requirements. (Less)
