Clinical Workshop: Maximizing the effect of exposure and cognitive restructuring.

Perrin, Sean LU orcid (2021) 6th Annual Maudsley Health Conference
Abstract
This clinical workshop is aimed at child and adolescent mental health professionals. The workshop will focus on two interventions found in all first-line, evidence-based treatments for PTSD: exposure to the trauma memory and reminders, and cognitive restructuring of trauma-related beliefs. Participants will learn about the various way that effective exposure can be achieved through writing, oral recitation, imaginal and in vivo exposure, and how to identify and modify trauma-related beliefs using behavioral experiments and other standard cognitive change techniques. Participants should read:
1) Perrin, S., Leigh, E., Smith, P., Yule, W., Ehlers, A., & Clark, D. M. (2017). Cognitive therapy for PTSD. In Landolt, M., Cloitre, M.,... (More)
