Reducing elementary school absenteeism through an early collaborative approach: pilot findings from the EAGLE intervention

Abstract
School absenteeism is linked to adverse academic, social, and mental health outcomes, yet few early interventions have been tested in Nordic contexts. This pilot study examined the preliminary effectiveness of the Early Absenteeism Guide for Lifelong Education (EAGLE), a school initiated, parent-focused intervention targeting emerging absenteeism among children. Nine students in preschool to third grade (aged 7–10) participated together with their caregivers.
