Size- and composition controlled Au-In nanoalloy aerosol particles
(2002) Proceedings of 7th International Conference on Nanometer-Scale Science and Technology and 21st European Conference on Surface Science (NANO-7/ECOSS-21)- Abstract
- A gas-phase method has been developed for producing size- and composition controlled nanoparticles of binary alloys. The constituent elements are evaporated sequentially, with size selection after the first and second stages. In this paper, we study the Au-In system in compositions ranging from pure Au to 70 atomic percent In. Transmission electron microscopy was used to study morphology and structure, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to determine the composition of individual particles. Under electron beam irradiation, some particles were transformed into core-shell particles
