Abstract
In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, marked by the rise of hybrid and remote work models, there is a need to explore innovative approaches to sustaining work motivation with less on-site presence. This study employed a multi-method approach to examine whether the motivational strategies managers found effective were aligned with team members' perceptions across in-office, hybrid, and remote contexts. The findings showed that while team members mutually agreed upon some motivational factors, other factors were valued differently by various groups within specific work environments. Notably, although hybrid work is often generalized into a single category, our results suggested that motivators could vary depending on the number of... (More)
In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, marked by the rise of hybrid and remote work models, there is a need to explore innovative approaches to sustaining work motivation with less on-site presence. Notably, although hybrid work is often generalized into a single category, our results suggested that motivators could vary depending on the number of days team members spent in the office.

Furthermore, while some motivational strategies employed by managers aligned with team members’ perceptions, many key factors identified by team members were overlooked by managers. This discrepancy highlighted a significant gap between managerial assumptions and employee needs. Consequently, our research yielded actionable insights for enhancing employee motivation across diverse work contexts, emphasizing the imperative for managers to tailor strategies to meet their teams' diverse needs effectively.
