Planning for evaluation of low energy buildings´ performance after a few years of operating
(2010) 4th Nordic Passive House Conference, 2011- Abstract
- Both within Europe and Sweden energy requirements gradually are becoming more stringent in order to increase the share of new buildings with low energy use. However, if the construction and property owners sectors shall make decisions, about larger investments within the field of low energy buildings, a complete evaluation of the buildings´ performance after a few years of operation is needed. According to the recast of directive on the energy performance of buildings (2010/31/EU) in 2010, all newly constructed buildings occupied and owned by public authorities, commenced by December 31 2018, should have near zero energy use. By December 31 2020, this energy requirement will be in force for all new building constructions.

By December 31 2020, this energy requirement will be in force for all new building constructions.
A project which evaluates low energy buildings during operation is to be performed. The planning for this projects starts with a literature review in which already performed studies are to be summarised and thereby being able to identify if and in which types of buildings more evaluations are required.
This paper contains a literature review and its objective is summarising the number of erected buildings and evaluations made of low energy buildings in Sweden. Further based on the results, suitable building types and parameters that will be included in the performance evaluation will be suggested. (Less)
